American Legend Percy Sledge Dies At 73, singer of 'When A Man Loves A Woman'

 
The Legendary American R&B and soul singer died today April 14th, 2015 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, said Stephanie Price of the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office. Sledge died of natural causes, said East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner Dr. William Clark. He had been in hospice care for liver cancer, Clark added.
His longtime agent, Steve Green, said Percy, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005  He’s survived by a wife and 12 children.
Famed for his son `When A Man Loves A Woman’ was the biggest song of 1966 and the greatest hit of his career. It’s one of the most covered songs of all time and has featured on several movie soundtracks.
In a career that started in the 1960s, Sledge had a number of hits, including “Take Time to Know Her,” “Warm and Tender Love” and “It Tears Me Up” among them. Rest in peace Sledge!!
